Central Co-operative Learning Trust formed on 1st November
The 1st November 2017 was an important day in the history of William Shrewsbury Primary School as we become a founder member of the Central Co-operative Learning Trust along with Outwoods and John of Rolleston schools. The school is now an Academy school and is funded directly by the government rather than the Local Authority. This means that we have greater control of our own destiny going forwards and we will be able to take positive decisions that are in the best interests of our pupils, families and staff. The process of becoming an academy has taken a number of months of discussions and consultations with governors, staff and parents.
We will be working in close partnership with the other schools in our multi academy trust (CCLT MAT) but each of the schools will retain their own independence. For instance, each school will keep its own uniform and logo. There will be opportunities for schools, staff and pupils to work together to offer mutual support and to take part in joint projects.
We are looking forward to the next stage of our exciting learning journey and to working in partnership in our MAT to benefit the children and families in our area.
