During Science Week, William Shrewsbury Primary School children were excited and amazed by our crazy Science Boffin visitor. Children in each year group had a science based learning day linking to the national theme of ‘Change, Exploration and Inventors’. All classes were involved in researching famous inventions and looking at the impact this had made on their life. This was also a great opportunity for children to get involved in incredible practical experiments and investigations. There have been many superb entries to the whole school science competition, where children were asked to design their own invention for the future! Some children were asked to summarise their experiences of science week in just THREE words. This is what they had to say:
‘Exciting, investigating, interesting’ – Mia, Year 1
‘Intriguing, exciting and awesome’ – Autumn, Year 4
‘Exciting, entertaining, enjoyable’ – Holly, Year 5
Overall, this was a successful mission to get more children thinking about science as a potential future career choice.
