Hello Reception, are you ready for your learning?

Don't forget to start your learning with our Penguin Wake Up Shake Up.  Now you will be ready to learn.

Have another listen to our story 'Lost and Found', by Oliver Jeffers.  We need to really know the story to help us with our tasks.

In phonics today, Mrs Cornell will be recapping g, o, c and k and you will learn all about the letter 'x' with Mrs Pearson. You can also download and print off My x Workbook at the bottom of this page.

Mrs Rawlings is ready to help you find out about  Magic Number 6. Will you be able to rise to the challenge? For extra challenges download the Number 6 PowerPoints at the bottom of the page.

In writing, Mrs Hardwick is going to draw and label a penguin.  Will you be able to do the same?  Remember to write down all the sounds you can hear in each word.

In our reading today, we have two books to share.  Our first one is Pip's Prank. This has got some words in but don't forget to talk about the pictures as well. Today, your teachers aren't going to read over the book.  We know you have watched the stories on Friday and Monday and so you know what to do.  If you have forgotten, go back to Monday's or Friday's learning to remind yourself and your adult.  The other book we would like you to read is Floppy's Phonics Book 1.

Get creative reception.  Now you know the story of Lost and found ask your adult to print off the characters in the attachments below or even better make your own to retell the story of 'Lost and Found'.  Your teachers would love to see you tell us the story!

Round off your day with one of our class favourites from the 50 Reception Recommended Reads Hairy Maclary.
