Wednesday 3rd March 2021
Don't forget to log on to Zoom at 9.30 to meet up and find out about todays learning.
In Phonics, we are recapping 'r' and reading words. Practise writing 'r'. Try reading the CVC words and blending the sounds together in the Blending Song. Mrs Pearson is going to introduce you to the 'air' sound.
In Maths, Mrs Rawlings will be showing you how to double the Giant's soup recipe. His wife hasn't made enough for him. He is still hungry!!! You will need your adding machines, counters, pencil and paper today. But before you begin you need to warm up your brains with some counting and listening to the Doubles Rap.
Mrs Hardwick will be helping you 'Hot Seat' and she has a helper to help her. Make sure you have your adult to help you as well.
In our moving and music, listen and move to another Nursery Rhyme session.
As the weather is getting warmer, we would love you to take more of your learning outside. In Reception, we are always trying to find ways to make learning fun and different. Have you tried practising your physical skills with numbers and phonics? Why not go outside and put your graphemes (letter sounds) or numbers on the floor or on the shed and see if you can bounce a ball on the correct grapheme or number. Perhaps you can jump on your letters and numbers if you put them on the grass. Can you count while you hula hoop? Could you spell out tricky words as you skip? Maybe you could make an obstacle course to find the graphemes and phonemes? We think you could think up even better ideas! Let us know what you have done.
At the end of the day, snuggle down for a story. Today Mrs Rawlings is going to read to you Sleep Tight Little Bear.
Don't forget tomorrow is World Book Day and we would love to see you tell us a story. Send your recordings to your teacher.
