Learning and Growing Together

Wk Beg 16.11.20

Another great week learning about autumn, letters and numbers.

This week we have been continuing learning our phonic sounds.  Our new sounds are l, ll and ss.  We are trying really hard to blend the sounds we have heard together to read words such as h-i-ss.  We are also trying really hard to form our letters correctly especially in our name.  If you're not sure how to write them have a look at the letter formation sheet below.

We are still working from our Pumpkin Soup story and thinking about the characters.  See if you can retell the whole story to your adult.

In maths, we have been learning all about number 2.  Why not have a look at our Number blocks Number 2 Clip.  Can you find 2 of something?  Socks, toothbrushes, carrots or something else.  Perhaps you could draw a picture of two things or pairs of things.  We have also been looking at number 3.  Can you find three things around your house or garden?  What shape has three sides?  Do you know any stories with three characters in?  Why not have a look in our story telling section for the story of the The Three Billy Goats Gruff.  Could you make the Billy goats and retell the story with your adult? Can you find different ways of making three?  Have a look at our Number Blocks Number 3 Clip.

Don't forget to have a look at the activities attached at the bottom of this page.

We have been mixing autumn colours and making autumn leaves looking carefully at the colours in real leaves.  We have also been using natural objects to make pictures.  Could you find things in your garden to make a picture with?  It could be leaves, sticks or stones.  Don't forget to ask an adult to help you when you are collecting things.
