Topic - Lest we forget (Remembrance)

This week we are learning about remembrance and poppies.

  •  Watch an appropriate video about remembrance and why it is important.

  •  Create your own poppy design.

  •  Take a photo of yourself with your poppie.

  •  Think about what happens during the remembrance service and why we have a 2 minutes silence.

  •  Create a poppy and fields inspired piece of artwork whether that be crayons, sketching, felt-tip, pastel, paint etc.

In PSHE we have been learning about 'remembrance'. You could write some sentences about how a poppy makes you feel and why they are special to the UK and to lot’s of families around the country.

Phonics - Please see your child's home phonics folder for specific sounds and tricky sight words that you child needs to learn. All other resources are on the Phonics page within the Year 1 class page. Please see 'useful websites' for any other guidance.
