English - Fact Files (Non-Fiction Writing)
Following our book based curriculum our book for this half-term is ‘How to Catch a Star by Oliver Jeffers’. This story involves lots of pictures and simple dialogue that the children can explore. Please use the read aloud story to explore this wonderful text with your child at home.

Topic - Materials and My World.
This week we are learning about materials in science and all about me and my world.
Go on a materials hunt in your house. Can you find plastic, metal, fabric, rubber and wood.
Take photos of the materials that you find and then create a collage and label all of them.
Use words to describe different materials and sort them into hard, soft etc.
Create a rocket ship using different materials in your house.
Take pictures of your family members and create a photo page with all of your favouite memories and label who the different family members are.

In PSHE we have been learning about 'ourselves'. You could write some sentences about you and your family and draw all of the members of your family.
