English - Introducing George and the Dragon.
Following our book based curriculum our book for this half-term is ‘George and the Dragon by Chris Wormell’. This story involves lots of pictures and simple dialogue that the children can explore. Please use the read aloud story to explore this wonderful text with your child at home.

Topic - Materials and My Local Area.
This week we are learning about materials (revisit) in science and all my local area.
Go on a materials hunt in your house. Can you find plastic, metal, fabric, rubber and wood. Can you sort these into groups and talk about their properties.
Can you draw a picture of your local area and write a good sentence about what is there?
Use words to describe different materials and sort them into hard, soft etc.
Create a your own town using different materials and labels the different places that you know.
What do you already know about castles? Can you draw a castle and get an adult to write down all of the things that you already know about castles.

In PSHE we have been learning about 'caring for others'. You could draw the different people that care for you and write down what they do for you.
