Information for home learning w.b 7th December 2020

English- This week in English we will be revisiting and consolidating some of our previous learning from this half term. 

Here are some reading and writing activities you might like to complete. Please follow the links below. 

Monday- WALT understand, identify and use nouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs. (link)

Tuesday- WALT use adjectives (describing words) and joining words to create descriptive sentences. (link)

Wednesday- WALT check our writing to make sure it makes sense. (link)

Thursday- WALT listen carefully to a story and demonstrate understanding of the main events. (link)

Friday- WALT listen to a story and show our understanding by answering questions about it.  (link)

Maths- This week in Maths we will be revisiting and consolidating some of our previous learning from this half term. 

Here are some activities you might like to complete, some of which link to Christmas! Please follow the links below. 

Monday WALT represent numbers to 50 (link) Find some objects to count, and have a go at grouping them into tens and ones.

Tuesday- WALT know number bonds to 10 and 20 (linkHave a go at this game too (hit the button)

Wednesday- WALT add and subtract numbers Have a go at adding and subtracting the numbers to complete the Christmas Mosaics! You could draw out your dienes to help. Find the sheet in the attachments below. Watch our calculation videos to help (subtraction) (addition)

Thursday- WALT add and subtract numbers Complete the addition and subtraction sums to crack the code to answer the Christmas jokes! Watch our calculation videos to help (subtraction) (addition)

Friday- WALT count in 2s,5s and 10s. Have a go at counting up in 2’s,5’s and 10’s. Now have a go at completing the missing numbers on the fairy lights – find attached below.

Topic- We have really enjoyed learning about Materials this half term. Please follow the link below to explore the collection of videos, quizzes and games which will help to consolidate your child’s understanding of basic material types, properties and uses. (link)

PE- We have enjoyed learning the correct throwing and catching skills for netball - chest pass, bounce pass, shoulder pass and overhead pass. Can your child demonstrate the passes to you? Three or more people can play a game like ‘Piggy in the Middle’ where the person throwing the ball has to use a netball pass. Remember, if you have the ball you cannot travel, you must stand still!
