Year 2 Home Learning w.b 5/7/21

Information regarding home learning for Year 2 children. 

This home learning is available for children if they are self-isolating or awaiting test results. Please email any completed home learning to your child's class teacher. 





Please log on to your oxford reading buddy account to read some books at home. You can complete the comprehension quizzes afterwards which are a great way to check understanding of the story read. If you do not know your child's login, please email your child's teacher. (link)

Maths- we have been recently looking at time. Here are some lessons linked to Time below. There are videos and quizzes to complete.

Please find attached writing activities. They do not need to be printed and can be written on separate paper. 

Lesson 1: In my suitcase. The instructions are on the pdf document. Children will choose where they want to take a trip to and create a list of things they would take with them. They can practise writing this in their joined up handwriting. Then they could write a diary about their trip. 

Lesson 2: By the seaside. Choose a character based on what they are doing in the picture provided. Children can write a description of the picture or a short story about what might happen. 

Lesson 3: Tell the story: Write some sentences about what might happen in the story comic strip. Use the pictures to create character and think of their names. 

Art: This week we are creating Land Art inspired by Andy Goldsworthy. Please see attached PowerPoint below if you wish to complete this challenge in your garden! 

Science:  This week we are continuing our learning all about food chains. Can you draw some food chains that you would find in different habitats? Please see PowerPoint attached to find out about this learning challenge.
