Reception SEND Home Learning

Please find below activities that you can do with your child whilst they are at home self-isolating.

Home Learning w/c: 16.11.20

Phonics - Letter recognition

To continue with letter recognition and improving fine motor development the children could:

  • Draw letters in rice and different materials in a baking tray.
  • Use shaving foam for messy sensory play.
  • Watch Jolly Phonics Video (Link).
  • Match letters and pictures.
  • Put together a jigsaw.

Story Sessions - Creative sessions based around Pumpkin Soup

This story can be used to introduce lots of different tastes and textures to children through food tasting experiences. Other ideas could be to make a home for the characters.  Maybe be you could scoop out, chop or cut different fruit and vegetables?  Could you make a character from the story or a picture using autumn objects from your garden?

Mathematics - pattern and shape recognition.

To continue our learning on pattern have a look below

Dough Disco Fun

A great way to get ready for activities or exercising our hands and brains is Dough Disco.  Have a look at the link for fun ways to use playdough.  The recipe can be found below.  Have fun making it together.

Singing and Exercise

A great way to learn about numbers is by singing along to some great songs.  Have a look at our counting songs and rhymes for some good ideas. Have fun.  Why not try someCosmic Yoga.  We love the stories and exercise in school.
