Wake and Shake - Sonic The Hedgehog (A Cosmic Kids Yoga Adventure)

English - WALT: Retell a story.

Maths - WALT: use a ruler. 

  • Today's maths lesson is a completely practical session where the children do not need to be writing down much content. You will require a ruler for the children to use today or alternatively if you don't have one at home, please could you create one using a slip of paper and your best guess. 

Topic - (Design and Technology) WALT: design for entertainment purposes. 

Today we are going to use our skills to design a robot to keep us entertained during lockdown. Please use the video to hear your brief, this is a real-life competition in association with Currys and PC world to win £5000!  Your design must be accompanied by the following information:

  • Who is the robot's creator? (First name only)
  • How old is the robot's creator?
  • What is the name of the robot?
  • What can the robot do and what amazing technology have you included, why? (up to 300 words only)

For GDPR and safeguarding purposes please can you ensure that all children do not add their surname on any designs and that children are not visible in any entry photographs.

TODAY IS 'SAFER INTERNET DAY'.

Wake and Shake - Cosmic Kids Yoga (Frozen Themed)

We would LOVE for you to have fun in the snow today, and send us a report all about what you get up to. This could be pictures, written, a video, draw pictures...

Anyway you'd like!

Here are a few ideas of what you could do today...

English - Letters in the snow. 

  • Can you write the alphabet or your phonics sounds in the snow? 
  • Can you write words or sentences in the snow? 
  • Can you write a secret snow message? 
  • Can you write your name in the snow? 

Maths - Snow Towers and Snow Sculpture. 

  • Why not create a 10 frame using snowballs! What numbers can you create with snowballs and other items. 
  • Play a game of Snowman Drive (Google Drive). 
  • KS1 Challenge - Can you build a snow creation or sculpture? Please take a photo of your sculpture with you next to it and see if you can make it taller than you. Send in your photos to your class teacher and the winner will get a PRIZE!
